You'll note that I didn't wear it in public, but shaved it off immediately. Can you imagine playing a ComedySportz for Kidzzz show (or being alive and a member of society) in that thing?
2. The fact that, after a three-week hiatus, I'll be back playing Deep in the Blue Season 2 with The Durham Three.
3. The list of five "must read science fiction books" I'm compiling for Monica. It currently only has one set member: Gateway, by Frederick Pohl.
4. Comedy. I'm working on more stand up, I have a few other peripheral projects floating around, and I'll be playing in the D.S.I. CageMatch Dual Duel on September 13:
You should be there. John Loftin and I are playing together in Extraordinary Rendition. We previewed our show last night and it went really well.

That picture looks like a mug shot. Creepy. I'm glad I didn't have to meet the 'stache in person.
The list has to contain at least one Heinlein. Not because he's unbelievably awesome, but because a lot of what he wrote has become the political background for both authors and readers of SF. That combination of bright-eyed hope and fierce individualism seems to be a pretty common thread in a lot of SF.
Or maybe that's just my viewpoint. :)

Huh. No "Classic" era stuff (although 4 could be replaced with The Hugo WInners ed. Isaac Asimov), mostly 70's-90's. Interesting.
